Barcode Back Filer is specifically designed
for scanning old files where what is needed is a two part file
name, with the first part being a document identifier (usually the folder
name) and the second the document type. This relates to a file
cabinet, where each folder has a name and in the folder are standardized
documents. For instance personnel files, where the folder is the
employee name and in the folder are an application, background check,
withholding information, reviews etc. Or perhaps mortgage files with the
folder being the loan number and in the folder there is a credit check,
application, title search, financial statements.
The program works as follows:
It uses two cover pages, one for the folder
name and one for the document type. The first barcode cover page becomes the
file prefix and the second cover page becomes the file suffix. To
determine which is the first barcode and which is the second, the first
barcode must always contain a number or a list of document types must be
supplied for the second barcode.
Optionally the first barcode (prefix) can
also become a file folder; however, the file name will always be the
combination of the two barcodes.
For instance if scanning Mortgage Files and
they need to be placed in a folder structure where the folder name was
the loan number and the file name the document type. The user could set
the prefix as a number and the document type would be whatever was
contained in a barcode that was not a number.
However, if the folder name needed to be the
borrowers name, a list of all possible document types could be provided
and if the barcode contents were not in the list it would become a new
file.

How it Works:
The

Barcode Filing, Barcode Back Filer, and File by Barcode program files. It also
includes one Scan station, one Cover Page Creator and one Retrieval Station. All
the programs can be used with a copier that scans to a file folder on the
network avoiding the need for additional scan stations. All files are
logically created allowing a user to browse to them.
If additional scanners, retrieval or cover
page creation are required these can be purchased separately.
