Console Capture
 |
Captures Screen text, parses it and processes it
A completely unique program that captures the text on a users screen and based
upon its contents makes decisions. It can decide to pass portions of the screen
text to a search engine, fill out a form and barcode it, automatically name
documents, scan documents, retrieve documents create a csv file, or just pass
the captured data to a command line program. Console Capture can also be used to
completely image enable an application. |
How it Works
When a user has a window open in a database application if the user activates
Console Capture the program
will capture the screen data and parse it. Once parsed it can pass it on to the search engine of
company's document management program. If a different window is open it can
capture the data and use it to fill out a form, and barcode it for the company's document management program.
If these tasks are both related
to the same Window the user will be prompted to either retrieve a file or fill
out a form. If the data is used to fill out different forms, the user will then
be prompted to select the form they want filled out.
The captured data can also be used to activate a scanner and when the file is scanned it
will automatically be named and placed in a logical file folder hierarchy based
on the screen contents. When the user returns to this screen the data can be
captured again and the document retrieved by pressing a hot key. If the user is
not using a scanner but a Copier that creates PDF's, if the PDF is open and the
users application is open, it can automatically move the file into the proper
folder and rename it. The user can also be prompted for indexing data for the
document.
An example would be Lease agreements or Sales Contracts, the user can
be in their contact management software, Console Capture will collect a client's
name or customer number off the screen, prompt the user for a document type and when
they select Lease, it will create the file in a subfolder for the client. If the
document already exists, it will automatically be appended, or the user can add
a date to it. When it is retrieved, if there is a single document, it will
automatically open it, if there are more than one a list will be displayed for
the user to choose from. It is ideal for when there are one or two documents
related to a transaction that need to be kept in order by date, or a series of
different document types related to a record in a database.
Examples would be payables in an Accounting Application, the documents could be
related to the check number or payable date. In a title company it could be
related to the property address and date or title number, in a car dealership it
could be related to VIN number and in a hotel it could be related to invoice
number. In a hotel it would be ideal as the user enters the data for the clients
stay, the client signs the agreement and the user drops the drivers license,
credit card and signed agreement through a scanner. When they need to retrieve
the file they just look up the client in their database and the scanned image
will be there. The operator did not have to enter any additional data as it
would be completely indexed automatically.
